ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Roosevelt’s annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by PAR (Parents at Roosevelt), will be on Thursday, September 10, 5:30-6:30pm. Students and their families in all grades are invited to attend. Please note that because of the construction of the new school, the Ice Cream Social will be moved this year to the school yard closest to the Science Wing, on the side of the school adjacent to Hilyard. You may park in the rear of the school or park along the street in the front of the school and walk straight to the grassy area on the east side of the building.
New this year is a used book sale at the Ice Cream Social. Bring some cash or a check and shop the collection! These books are priced to sell. There are books for all ages, from young children to adult. All proceeds go to PAR to be used for school staffing. Be sure to check it out!
Picture day is Monday, September 21. ALL students have their pictures taken for lunch passes, activity cards and the yearbook. Picture forms were included in your back to school packets. The order form and your payment (if you order pictures) should be brought to school on picture day and given directly to the photographer. Checks for pictures should be made payable to Lifetouch.
ATTENDANCE HOT LINE
If your student is absent, please remember to call the attendance number – 541-790-8525, or email attendance at email@example.com to report your student’s absence. 4J’s auto-dialer calls parents about unexcused absences at 10:30 and 3:00 (2:30 on Wednesday). Please help us keep track of our students by calling the attendance hot line when your student will miss school.
REPEATED FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK:
ATTENTION 6TH GRADE BAND AND ORCHESTRA STUDENTS
Are you excited to make some music this year? Have you decided what instrument you want to play in band/orchestra? You are invited to stop by the band room on Thursday, September 10th from 5:30-6:30 for a meet-and-greet with Karen Doerfert. You are welcome to try out the instruments, and Karen will be available to answer your questions about 6th grade band and orchestra. Hope to see you there!
