What are the latest trends in Eugene’s drug scene for teens? Is usage going up or down? Has the recent legalization of marijuana changed anything? And what exactly are kids putting in those vapor cigarettes? A panel of well-informed experts will cover this vital topic for parents from a variety of angles. Find out what you really need to know from police Officer Ryan Wolgamott, Julie Hynes from Lane County Public Health, and a couple of real live South students! Each panelist will give a brief presentation and then there will be plenty of time for open Q/A. Please come and (totally optional) bring a snack to share!


Who always makes a difference in your child’s school day?  An inspiring teacher? An encouraging school secretary? A dedicated volunteer? A principal who leads by example? A bus driver who always takes the time to listen? Now is the time to recognize their contributions through the annual ACE (A Champion in Education) Awards! 

To nominate a 4J employee or volunteer who demonstrates excellence in education, go to Every nominee will be honored at an awards ceremony in April, and one person in each category will win a $1,000 cash prize toward a project or program in their school. 

Nominations must be submitted by March 14.

The ACE Awards are a collaborative effort of the Eugene and Springfield chambers of commerce and the Eugene, Bethel and Springfield school districts.  The program is presented by Oregon Community Credit Union and supported by others from the local business community.

RMS Spring Ultimate is back! RMS ultimate is coed and for all grade levels. The season starts the week after spring break with practices running Tuesday and either Thursday or Friday 3:45-5:00 at the RMS fields. Curious but not sure? The South Eugene Rowing Club is currently welcoming new members for the Spring 2016 season! Kids 8th-12th grade can join us for a free trial week and meet the team! We’ll teach them the basics of the rowing stroke and introduce them to what our team will be doing this racing season. Questions? Schools Sevens Rugby in Lane County is excited to invite K-12th graders to our 3rd annual Free Rugby Fun Day on Sunday, March 6, 1-3pm (K-3: 1-2pm) at ATA-Jefferson turf field in Eugene.
Fun kicking, handling, and other non-contact rugby activities for all!
Come dressed for action & bring water & a snack.
