LAST ACTIVITY NIGHT IN THIS 65 YEAR OLD BUILDING!

Activity Night is a fun and safe opportunity for all Roosevelt students to socialize in a safe and familiar place.

What are some of the activities?

•                DJ/Dancing in the B-hall gym

•                Karaoke in B Hall

•                Bingo in the Library

•               Ping Pong, foos ball, air hockey

•                Concessions in B Hall – pizza, popcorn, carrots, apple slices, juice and more ($.50-$1.00)

•                Coat room (lockers are not available to students so you are discouraged from bringing any bags)
Activities will be located in B Hall only. The rest of the school will be closed, including ALL lockers (even B Hall lockers). Use the coat room to store your stuff. Entry will ONLY be through the admission doors.

Who is invited?

Activity Night is for Roosevelt students only except: students wanting to invite a friend who attends another middle school, must fill out a permission form signed by an administrator from both schools.

Forms are available in the front office and are due by Wednesday, April 27.

Drop off is at the back of the school. All students enter through the courtyard and South B-Hall Bay Door.  NO ENTRY AT THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.

Pick up is at the front of the school.  Parents may park in the VLT parking lot to pick up students.

PARENTS AND STUDENTS, PLEASE USE THE CROSSWALKS TO CROSS 24TH AVENUE.

Students may NOT leave early unless a parent picks them up.  If a student is leaving early with another parent, the student’s parent must send a note saying it’s OK for the student to leave early with someone else.

Price: $3.00 in advance ($1.50 for reduced lunch program). $5.00 at the door ($2.50 for reduced lunch program).  OR Free for families that qualify.

SHOWCASE 2016- RETRO ROOSEVELT

Showcase Roosevelt is May 13th, 6:00-8:30.  Did you know Showcase is our biggest community event and fundraiser of the year?  Showcase is sponsored by PAR and put on by RMS staff, parents, grandparents, and community members–it takes a village to make it happen.  Not only is Showcase a fun family event with games, food, and entertainment, but Showcase is also the main venue through which PAR’s annual commitment of a .25 FTE (or in monetary terms, $27,800) is raised, which helps with staffing for the next school year.  How can you help? Watch for upcoming news about your student’s House Basket themes, then donate toward that theme; look for an upcoming link to sign up to volunteer; donate or ask a local business to donate an item to go in the Silent Auction–it can be as little as a t-shirt or as big as a vacation rental.  Questions? Contact Dana Fleming at alasaban@sbcglobal.net or Julie Hubbard-McNall at jhmcnall@gmail.com

*Please note that all volunteers are required to go through a background check at www.helpcounter.net/eugene

BE YOURSELF: RMS MUSICAL

Our final musical at the current site is called “Be Yourself: the RMS Musical”.

This is a musical theater retrospective of our beautiful, creative legacy at RMS. The show, double-cast with 68 students, features an assortment of favorite pieces from past musicals at RMS along with an original storyline which connects the action and serves as an homage to our amazing tradition of excellence in the arts!

“Be Yourself” is borrowed from the name of a class created by the amazing Judy Francis who taught at RMS for several decades.

Our show opens on May 19th with 8 performances until May 28th (two matinee performances are included).

Tickets and t-shirts will go on sale at the beginning of May– all proceeds will support future theater ventures at the new RMS.
