Last Friday the students had a wonderful time attending Activity Night with an amazing carnival theme. Marty’s ACT students were very creative making great games for the event.  THANK YOU to our new Activity Night coordinator Ashley Talbott-Kautzman, and this year’s co-coordinators, Tasha Loveness and Maria Bolanos-McClain.  And a Big THANKS to all the parents who chaperoned various areas:  Raina Megert, Melody Spear, Susan Alger, Tony Archer, Lisa von der Heyt, Heather Archer, Jessica Henley, Janell Matney, Greg Ingold, Kelly Froats, Rachel Sanders, Christine Sampley, Leslie Freck, Julie Voelker-Morris and Tara Parrillo.

Showcase Roosevelt is less than two weeks away.  It’s not too late to donate or volunteer.  Please support this important community and fundraising event.

House Basket themes have been chosen.   If you are not sure of the theme for your student’s House Basket, contact Laura Fuhriman:, with you student’s House, and she will email you the info. If you feel you don’t have time or don’t know what to buy, you may also send cash or a check, in an envelope, with your student’s and their teacher’s name written on the outside.  Please send donations with your student by Tuesday, May 10th.

Reimagine Education in Oregon: Community forum on Tuesday, May 10

You are invited to join with the Oregon Department of Education and other members of our community to reimagine education in our state. State and local leaders will hold an education forum in our community on Tuesday, May 10. 

Come learn more about Oregon’s education initiatives, contribute to a discussion on the factors supporting student success, and get your questions answered by local and state education leaders.

The community forum will be held at South Eugene High School from 6:00–7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. You can find more information, including other community forums around the state, on the Oregon Department of Education website at

Usted está invitado a reunirse con el Departamento de Educación de Oregon y otros miembros de nuestra comunidad para re-imaginar la educación en nuestro estado. Los lideres estatales y locales llevaran a cabo un foro de educación en nuestra comunidad el martes, 10 de mayo. 

Venga y aprenda más acerca de las iniciativas de educación en Oregon, contribuya a la conversación sobre los factores que apoyan el éxito de los estudiantes y obtenga respuestas a sus preguntas por los lideres de educación estatal y local.

Churchill High School incoming Freshman night is Wednesday,  May 25th at 6:30pm. 


Eugene Middle School Ultimate will offer two camps this summer, open to youth ages 10-14. Register now for one or both sessions June 20-24 or August 1-5 to learn or enhance your ultimate skills. All skill levels encouraged to attend. Camp will be held at the field behind RMS Monday-Friday 9-3 PM. The cost is $125 a session, or receive a huge discount and register for both for  $200 total! Campers receive a disc, shirt, a guaranteed good time and a lot of high-end instruction on ultimate frisbee.
