CALENDAR CHANGE TO RESTORE SCHOOL DAYS
The Eugene School District has adjusted this year’s school calendar to restore five of the school days that were missed due to hazardous winter weather.
Four school days will be made up at the end of the school year in June. The new final day for students is Thursday, June 22.
At middle and high schools, the fifth school day will be restored before spring break in March. The previously scheduled no-school day on March 17 for teacher planning and professional development has been changed to a regular school day. The grading day for the second trimester has been moved from March 16 to April 3 and the third trimester will begin on April 4, after spring break.
Certain other days also have been changed in the revised calendar to balance the school year. High school graduation dates have not changed.
Please see the attached revised red/white calendar or check our school’s calendar on the Roosevelt website for additional no-school days that are not part of the district-wide calendar.
Volunteers are needed with the Vision Testing on Friday March 3rd, from 9am to about 10am. Please contact Laura Fuhriman at email@example.com, if you are able to help. Thank you.

SHOWCASE KICK-OFF and INFO MEETING
Join us the evening of Wednesday, February 22nd, from 7:00-8:00 in the library. We will have information about what Showcase Roosevelt is and the many different ways you can help make it a huge success. Showcase Roosevelt is the largest PAR fundraiser of the year and is the source of most of our income, the bulk of which goes to helping pay for FTE. Your help is needed to make this event fun and successful. Come meet with various event coordinators and sign up for areas that interest you including House Baskets, Silent Auction, Staffle Raffle, Advertising, Food, Student Activities, Staff Talent Show, and more. There are a variety of opportunities and time commitments, all of which will be explained at the meeting. This is a great way to get involved at Roosevelt and support our students and staff.
Refreshments will be served and all attendees will be entered in a raffle for prizes to be distributed that evening. Bring a friend and be part of this exciting annual RMS event that will take place on Friday, April 28th.
Please email Alexis Borrevik at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or if you are unable to attend and would like to sign up for a position.

HOW TO PURCHASE A YEARBOOK
We have a wonderful and dedicated group of parents and students who are creating our first yearbook in the new Roosevelt facility. The group has been meeting after school on Wednesdays and has already designed the cover. Yearbooks are very popular with students and staff, so please consider purchasing a yearbook ASAP!
The cost will be $30 and $15 for students who have qualified for the federal free and reduced lunch program.
If you would like to pay with credit card….
Please visit the follow the web link below and purchase a yearbook for $30. There is no processing fee. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch discount cannot receive a discount online, so should pay in the office.
Roosevelt’s yearbook ID number is 10678817.
If you would like to pay by cash or check….
Please come to the office and ask for Karen Kingzett. You could have a check ready for $30 made payable to Roosevelt Middle School with Yearbook (plus student name) written in the Memo space.
