PICTURE RETAKES – TODAY
Picture retakes are today, October 16 during first period (8:50-9:45am). If your student is having retakes, he or she must bring the original picture packet to school on Monday to give the photographer. If your student did not have pictures taken on the first picture day, then he or she should definitely plan to have pictures taken, even if you choose not to purchase pictures. If you do want to purchase pictures, packets are available in the office.
Parent-teacher conferences are Tuesday, November 7 and Thursday, November 9, 4-8pm. Your student should have received a blue colored appointment request form from the advisor last Monday, October 9, but the appointment request form is also attached to this email. Scheduling is completed on a first come, first served basis. Due to high demand, it is not possible to schedule all requests. Therefore, if you don’t have concerns, you may choose not to participate. Appointment schedules will be emailed prior to the conference dates.
All conferences will be in the large (north) gym. Please enter at the gym entrance doors next to the parking lot. Parents move from table to table, according to a schedule that will be provided, to meet with up to three teachers for ten minute appointments with each.
Appointment request forms are due in the office by Wednesday, October 18.
Roosevelt Middle School is going to have it first Activity Night of the year on Friday, October 27th.
There are several activities where you can help supervize: concession, dance, bingo, monitoring exits, Karaoke, etc.

PAR EDUCATION NIGHT – SCREENAGERS
Are you watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Join us for a screening of the film Screenagers on Tuesday, October 17th at 6:30 in the RMS dining hall, for our first PAR Parent Education Night of the year. Screenagers examines the impact of technology on the daily lives of adolescents and teens in the modern era, capturing the defining challenge of parenting today and offering pragmatic solutions. Following the screening we will host a discussion about the film. To find out more about the film, visit https://www.screenagersmovie.com.
The event is free and open to the public. However if you are able, please purchase tickets at https://tinyurl.com/screenagersrms . Tickets are available for purchase on a sliding scale to offset the cost of the licensing agreement. Please do not let finances be a barrier to participating in this event. We encourage you to invite parents from other schools to attend. Middle and high school students are also invited to attend. All are welcome. Questions? Email Alexis Borrevik at firstname.lastname@example.org or Carrie Frazier at email@example.com.
