Thank you to everyone who collected donations and/or donated to Roosevelt Activity Day.  As a result of your efforts we collected $17,925 for Roosevelt staffing and other important programs for students.  Thanks to all!


Our showing of Screenagers on Tuesday, October 17th was wildly successful, with at least 175 parents and students from schools across the district in attendance. The film was full of great information about the impact of cell phones, video games, and the media on teens and presented some helpful tools for working with your children to come up with reasonable guidelines for usage. Want to show our amazing teachers just  how much we appreciate them and all that they do? Here’s your chance. On Thursday, November 9th,PAR is feeding the teachers dinner during parent/teacher conferences. We are providing the main course and would love for you to provide the rest. We are feeding 31 teachers and staff members and will also need help with set-up and clean-up. Dinner will be served around 6:00 during their brief break. What is Activity Night?

Activity Night is a fun and safe opportunity for all Roosevelt students to socialize in a safe and familiar place.

What are some of the activities?

– DJ/Dancing in the small gym

– Karaoke, Bingo, Ping Pong

–  Concessions – serving pizza, chips, popcorn, juice ($.50-$1.00)

– Coat room (lockers are not available to students so you are discouraged from bringing any bags)

AND MORE . . .

Activities will be located in the Dining Hall and C Hall only.  The rest of the school will be closed, including ALL lockers.  Use the coat room to store your stuff.  Entry will ONLY be through the admission doors.  

Who is invited?

Activity Night is for Roosevelt students only except: students wanting to invite a friend who attends another middle school, must fill out a permission form signed by an administrator from both schools.  Forms are available in the front office and are due by Wednesday, October 25. 

Drop off and pick up are in the parking lot on the east side of the school. All students enter through the south Dining Hall doors. 


$3.00 in advance ($1.50 for reduced lunch program).

$5.00 at the door ($2.50 for reduced lunch program).

OR Free for families that qualify.

Activity Night Cards go on sale Monday, October 23.

Important Reminders:

1.  Students who purchased activity night cards in advance must bring their activity night cards with them and enter the building at the south side cafeteria door near the theater stage.

2.  Students who pay at the door (including guests) enter at the south side cafeteria door near the parking lot.

3.  Drop your student off at the back of the building, at the parking lot.

4.  Students who wear a costume must arrive in the costume – no changing clothes after arriving.

5.  Students may not go to their lockers during activity night.

6.  Students may not leave early unless a parent comes to pick them up. If your student is leaving early with another parent, you must send a note with your student saying it’s okay for your student to leave early with someone else.

Regarding Costumes

Students may wear costumes to school, but they must conform to the Roosevelt Middle School dress code as stated in the student planner.  Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disability, gender, or individual (staff or student) at the school.

No unsafe props or equipment including replica or toy weapons are to be brought to school.

No costumes that would completely hide the identity of the student, i.e. gorilla suit, mask, etc.

No costumes that would impair a student’s vision or movement.

All students participating must come to school dressed in their costumes – no getting ready in the building.  Make up, hair products etc will be confiscated and not returned.  If you are not sure, don’t wear it!

All students must be picked up promptly at 8:30pm 


Parent-teacher conferences are Tuesday, November 7 and Thursday, November 9, 4-8pm. Appointment schedules will be emailed prior to the conference dates. All conferences will be in the large (north) gym.  Please enter at the gym entrance doors next to the parking lot.  Parents move from table to table, according to a schedule that will be provided, to meet with up to three teachers for ten minute appointments with each.  


4J Parent Leaders Network – is a volunteer network connecting parent organization leaders for mutual support. We share resources, ideas, and best practices to support the involvement of parents and families in the education of their children. Our meetings for the 2017-2018 school year will take place at the District Office at 200 North Monroe Street Take away tools will be provided.

Each meeting will include a 40-minute training topic and a 20-minute information presentation from Eugene School District 4J Superintendent Dr. Gustavo Balderas, Elementary Director Brooke Wagner, and Secondary Director BJ Blake.

How to purchase a yearbook

Quantities are limited, so please consider purchasing a yearbook ASAP! The cost is $30 or $15 for students who qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program.  If you would like to pay with credit card (there is no processing fee) please visit the following the web link and purchase your yearbook. Unfortunately, the discounted fee is not available online. 

Roosevelt’s yearbook ID number is 10678818.  

If you would like to pay by cash or check…. please come to the office and make your check payable to Roosevelt Middle School with Yearbook (plus student name) written in the Memo space.
