Showcase Roosevelt 2020

Showcase 2020 is coming and your help is needed to make it our best, most successful event yet! Are you new to RMS and curious about what Showcase Roosevelt is? Have you been to Showcase in the past and want to help at this year’s event? Do you have some crazy fundraising tricks or a desire to take charge and get stuff done? Look no further than our Showcase 2020 planning kickoff meeting on THIS Monday, February 10th at 6:30 PM in the Roosevelt library.

While work on this event has been underway since the fall, the real effort begins now and we need you. There are roles and time commitments of all sizes—big, small, and in-between; you’re sure to find something that fits your life. Whether you’re a take charge kind of person or someone who prefers to be directed, there is a Showcase role with your name on it. Join us on February 10th and be part of Roosevelt’s largest annual community gathering and fundraising event from behind the scenes and beyond. Can’t make it on the 10th but still want to be involved? Email Alexis at ancborrevik@yahoo.com for more information.

RMS Track

The RMS 2020 Track & Field season begins March 9th. There will be a parent meeting from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. THIS Tuesday, February 11th (tomorrow) in the school cafeteria. We will discuss practices, the meet schedule, and parent volunteer opportunities. The packet of participation forms will be available. We hope to see you there!

Volunteers Needed

Do you want to be involved in your child’s school environment but aren’t sure what you’d like to do? Here at Roosevelt Middle School we have many opportunities to be involved–everything from Homework Club to Library volunteering and even helping our other parent volunteers with Activity Night! See below for different ways to get involved!

OFFICE VOLUNTEERS
Work with our wonderful and dedicated front office staff! This position requires a weekly commitment to answer phones, make copies, put incoming mail in teacher mailboxes and answer basic questions from parents and students. This volunteer position is very important in helping keep the front office running smoothly. This is a great opportunity to get to know staff, teachers and even the great kiddos who are here everyday! If you would like to become a parent volunteer in the front office at Roosevelt please contact Laura Fuhriman (fuhriman_l@4j.lane.edu)

SHOWCASE ROOSEVELT
It is that time of year again where we start putting together our annual Showcase Roosevelt. This event is not only meant to build our RMS community as a fun family event and display of many different kinds of student work, but also to raise money to better support our teachers and help them provide an excellent education for all our children. In order for such an important event to be successful, it takes a community. Thus, we are asking for a few volunteers willing to help in several ways to make this year’s Showcase awesome. Please take a look at the SIGN UP for ways that you can participate and invest in our community for our kids.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER:
* Track
* 8th Grade Picture Day
* Field trip for 7th grade science classes
* 6th grade Cultural Festival
* and 8th grade promotion

Contact Laura Fuhriman (fuhriman_l@4j.lane.edu) if you are interested in helping with any of the listed activities/events.
