Message from the Principal & Assistant Principal
Greetings, all!
A short update for a short week ahead … and the last in January. We usher in the last half of the trimester after a grading day this Friday. We’re well on our way to trimester three and continue to navigate new information and potential transitions in the months ahead. The most recent updates for a possible return to in-person learning can be found at https://www.4j.lane.edu/2021/01/back-to-buildings-update/.
This week, we encourage your student to go through their Canvas with you, check on any missing assignments and projects, and double check grades in anticipation of progress reports. Many teachers will be giving Pass/No Pass for the period and this is a great week to get caught up and connected. Office hours and Homework Club are two venues for support.
We hope it’s a quiet and productive week for you ahead… with a little chance of snow ahead in the forecast, here’s a quick reminder of how CDL works in winter weather: https://www.4j.lane.edu/2021/01/inclement-weather-during-covid/.
Have a great week,
Courtney and Mike

Staff Appreciation
Let’s show our teachers how much we appreciate all that they do during the mid-trimester grading day. We are collecting $10 Laughing Planet gift cards for our teachers and staff to be distributed this Friday so that teachers can pick up a healthy lunch or snack while working on mid-trimester grades. Please indicate in your sign-up how many gift cards you are contributing so that we can be sure to have enough for all teachers and EAs; we need 32 to be able to do that.
Gift cards should be dropped off at Roosevelt by the end of the school day on Thursday. Sign up at https://signup.com/go/JXccJjP If you’d prefer to contribute via Venmo (or another app), please contact Alexis at ancborrevik@yahoo.com. Thank you for helping us support our teachers.
