What’s My Student’s Schedule?
Schedules updated to show which days middle & high school students attend classes on-site
School Schedules • Elementary • Middle • High

4J middle and high school students are getting ready to return to school classrooms this week, after more than a year of distance learning.

Middle and high school class schedules have alternated on an A/B day schedule this year, with each class featured in depth two days a week. These weekly schedules will continue when students return to school buildings for hybrid on-site learning.

In weeks with five school days, Wednesday is a flex day featuring asynchronous (on-demand) learning along with high school advisory classes and synchronous supports for selected students. In four-day weeks, A/B days alternate—there is no flex day, and Wednesday follows a regular school day schedule.

Printable schedules have been updated to show which days students will attend class on-site. For your school’s detailed schedule, see information from your school.

Reminder: No Dogs on School Grounds
Pets are not permitted on district property at any time

Dogs and other pets are welcome and wonderful companions at home, but not at school. As students are returning to school buildings this spring, we want to remind families and neighbors of some rules and regulations governing school grounds to help protect the safety of our students, staff and neighbors.

Please remember, school grounds are closed to the public during school hours, and dogs are not permitted on school grounds at any time unless authorized. Off-leash dogs, pet waste, and pets on synthetic fields are particular concerns.

When you are out in public with your dog, please be a responsible pet owner:

Student commute: If your dog walks with you to drop off or pick up your student at school, please stop at the sidewalk and don’t bring your dog onto school grounds.

Leashes: Dogs should be on leashes at all times. Local laws do not allow dogs at large except in designated off-leash areas.

Pet waste: Bag and dispose of pet waste properly and immediately. Take it with you or leave in a trash can if available. Waste and waste bags left on school property are a health and safety issue for students, school staff, and groundskeepers.
Thank you for helping keep our students, staff and neighborhoods safe and healthy as children return to school on-site.

Safety Rules: No Dogs at School
Safety Tips: Walk, Bike, Drive

Vaccine Update

4J educators have had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated before starting the hybrid on-site learning model.

All Oregonians age 16 and over will be eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines starting April 19, although supplies are limited.

Vaccines are not yet approved for children under 16, but testing and approval processes are underway.

We want everyone to be safe, healthy and comfortable at school, now that students have begun returning to school buildings. Schools will help students learn the new rules for school this spring—including staying apart, wearing face masks, washing hands, staying home when sick, and more.

Parents and students can watch this brief video as a brief introduction to what students can expect when they come to school on-site. It is available in English and Spanish.

Coming to School? Wear Your Mask!
Everyone must wear a face covering correctly at all times

Students returning to in-person learning should be ready to follow these simple rules for face coverings, and wear the right kind, the right way, all the time:

• Face coverings must be worn at all times, indoors and outdoors, including while in class, during recess, riding on a school bus, and while parents are dropping off students at school. Follow teacher or staff directions for very limited exceptions, such as meal times.

• Face coverings should fit snugly, covering nose and mouth at all times.

• Face coverings must be an effective design. Not permitted are gaiters, bandanas, masks with valves, or face shields alone (face shields may be worn in addition to masks).

Thank you for helping your student be prepared, safe and comfortable in their return to in-person learning.

Weekly Coffee Chats for 4J Families
Sessions for parents, guardians now open to all each week

4J parents and guardians are invited to join in virtual coffee chats each week. 4J social worker Maria Covernali leads these casual conversations that explore a different topic every month around emotional wellness, parenting and community resources.
Coffee chats are held in Spanish on Wednesdays and in English on Thursdays, 6–7 p.m. They were initially scheduled by high school region, but now anyone can join anytime for companionship and support.
Participants also can enter a free weekly drawing for the chance to take home a family activity basket.
