Dear Roosevelt Students, Staff, Parents, and the entire South Eugene Community: Thank you so much for your generous outpouring of emotional support and financial assistance. Words cannot even begin to express my appreciation for your kindness. I know that I have a lot of healing to do before I can return to the classroom. I look forward to serving RMS next Fall, and working with the talented students and families in our community. I feel so fortunate.
Thank you to Papa’s Pizza and everyone who participated in the fund raiser for Carol Sinclair’s medical expenses last Thursday. Thanks to your participation, Papa’s Pizza donated $991.94 cents to Carol’s medical fund.
G.I.V.E. CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Parent Council has set a goal of raising $100,000 to support next year’s staffing, and now is the time to make your donation! Go find the letter and voucher that was mailed two weeks ago, or go to www.eeflane.org to make an online donation, noting RMS Staffing. Please consider giving as generously as you can to meet our goal! Contact Larry Banks at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Carol Sinclair: HOW YOU CAN HELP
A reminder about how to help with Carol’s medical expenses:
1. Contact Roosevelt’s Volunteer Coordinator Julie Marks at email@example.com , if you would like to learn about other opportunities to support Carol while she is receiving treatment. These opportunities could be chores she is unable to accomplish, a ride to treatment, or providing Carol with leisure items (like magazines or knitting supplies).
2. If you would like to make a direct donation to Carol’s medical expenses: The following account at Selco has been set up for this purpose: Selco Community Credit Union Account 532488. Checks should be made out to Carol Sinclair Medical Fund. Checks can be deposited directly at Selco or sent to Roosevelt (680 E 24th Ave, Eugene, OR 97405, ℅ Karen Kingzett) and Karen will make the deposit. Electronic transfers can also be made to this Selco account.

Talent on Display
We need student talent!
Contact Dody Hansen at email@example.com to participate.
Each house will pick a theme for a basket. Students are encouraged to bring in items or donations to fill the baskets. We end up with wonderful, fun themes that are a huge attraction for bidders to purchase.
Look for more information about your student’s house basket in coming weeks!
Showcase Volunteers Needed
We need a volunteer to oversee and delegate in the Food area. We have two wonderful volunteers to take care of the desserts but we need someone to coordinate the dinner. The notes from past years are detailed to make it easy to take over. Last year’s food coordinator has even offered to help in the planning. So we really just need someone to step up and execute.
We also need someone fun and creative to help with signs and decorations.
Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Julie at firstname.lastname@example.org .
ROOSEVELT AFTER SCHOOL GIRLS SCIENCE CLUB!
While it is a known fact that women are underrepresented among those who earn science and engineering degrees, two science instructors from the University of Oregon are offering a wonderful opportunity for Roosevelt girls interested in learning more about science related subjects in a fun and exciting hands-on environment. The U of O graduate students will offer this engineering unit at Roosevelt. Session 1 is an introduction; Session 2 includes building arches; Session 3 covers Fractals; Session 3 includes Bridge design. The workshops will be held the following four Wednesdays in April: 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23. Each session will begin at 2:45 and end at 5:00 p.m. The cost for all four workshops is $25 per student. Scholarships are available. Space is limited and will go fast! To sign up, please contact Blanche at email@example.com or (541) 790-8500.

The first day of RMS Track and Field practice will be Monday, March 31. See attached document for more info.

If interested, please sign up at the Kidsports office. Cost will be $75 plus $12 OYSA fee, plus a $10 late fee (as the deadline has passed, but Kidsports still will let you sign up).
