Showcase Roosevelt is Friday, April 24, 6:00-8:30.  Did you know Showcase is our biggest community event and fundraiser of the year?  Showcase is sponsored by PAR and put on by RMS staff, parents, grandparents, and community members–it takes a village to make it happen.  Not only is Showcase a fun family event with games, food, and entertainment, but Showcase is also the main venue through which PAR’s annual commitment of a .25 FTE (or in monetary terms, $27,800) is raised, which helps with staffing for the next school year.  We love donations!  Watch for upcoming news about your student’s House Basket themes, then donate toward that theme;  donate or ask a local business to donate an item to go in the Silent Auction–it can be as little as a t-shirt or as big as a vacation rental.  Questions? RMS will be having its first Scholastic book fair during the week of Showcase. Please plan to visit the fair for some great books. The money we raise will buy next year’s OBOB books and new books for the library. The Fair will be open in the library before and after school and during lunch, as well as during Showcase evening.

The deadline to pre-order an RMS yearbook is April 20th.  To order a yearbook for your student, please send $25 ($12.50 for Free/Reduced Lunch) to the school office.  (Make checks out to RMS and put “Yearbook” in the memo line.)  Some scholarship money is available.  Contact your student’s advisor, or Sarah at for more information about scholarships.


UO SCIENCE AND INVENTION FAIR May 9th, 2015 -11:00am-4:00pm The 2015 UO Science and Invention Fair (in cooperation with Eugene & Springfield Public Schools) is a chance for children of all ages to develop an enthusiasm for science by designing and carrying out his/her very own experiment. The fair is open to all Lane County children in grades K-8. The fair will be held on the UO CampusMay 9th, 2015. This event is open to the public and family friendly. It is our goal to make science fun and accessible for all children. We think of this fair as an introductory event designed to encourage students’ interest in science. To that end, we have sought to make the rules and requirements of this event as simple and straightforward as possible. This fair is open to all members of the public. Even if you are not entering a project, come and have fun learning new things! See attached flyer for details. The fair will feature booths and tables from a number of science outreach programs in the community including SPICE and the Science Factory. A number of demonstrations and activities will take place during the judging and the fair will culminate in an awards presentations and a fun physics demonstration.
