The next Activity Night is Friday, October 30, 2015 6:30-8:30pm. Activity Night is a fun and safe opportunity for all Roosevelt students to socialize in a safe and familiar place.
What are some of the activities?
· Ping Pong, foosball
· Concessions – pizza, popcorn, cuties, chips and lemonade ($.50-$1.00)
· Coat room (lockers are not available to students so you are discouraged from bringing any bags)
Activities will be located in B Hall only. The rest of the school will be closed, including ALL lockers (even B Hall lockers). Use the coatroom to store your stuff. Entry will ONLY be through the admission doors, See Drop off
Who is invited?
Activity Night is for Roosevelt students only except: students wanting to invite a friend who attends another middle school, must fill out a permission form signed by parents and an administrator from both schools. Forms are available in the front office and are due by Wednesday, October 28.
Drop off is at the back of the school. All students enter through the courtyard and South B-Hall Bay Door. Students who purchased activity night cards in advance bring their activity night cards with them and enter the building IN THE BACK at the B13/Art room entrance. NO ENTRY AT THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.
Pick up is at the front of the school. Parents may park in the VLT parking lot to pick up students. PARENTS AND STUDENTS, PLEASE USE THE CROSSWALKS TO CROSS 24TH AVENUE. Students may NOT leave early unless a parent picks them up. If a student is leaving early with another parent, the student’s parent must send a note saying it’s OK for the student to leave early with someone else.
Price: $3.00 in advance ($1.50 for reduced lunch program). $5.00 at the door ($2.50 for reduced lunch program). OR Free for families that qualify.
1. Students in costume must arrive in the costume – no changing clothes after students arrive
2. No masks or anything that resembles a weapon.
3. The same rules that apply to clothing during the school day apply at activity night.
4. Students may not go to their lockers during activity night.
5. No one may leave early unless a parent comes to pick you up. If you are leaving early with another parent, your parent must send a note saying it’s ok for you to leave early with someone else.
6. All students must be picked up promptly at 8:30 and you may leave from the front of the building.
We need volunteers for Activity Night (Oct 30) 6:15-8:45pm! There are several activities that you can help supervise: foosball, concession dance, selfie booth, bingo, guarding door etc. Please signup at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4caba62cabf94-activity1 or contact Laura Fuhriman at firstname.lastname@example.org
To indicate interest in these or any other volunteer opportunities, please email our volunteer coordinator, Julie Marks at email@example.com. All volunteers must have a current background check at Roosevelt (4j background checks are site specific. Even if you have a current background check at another school, you will need to complete one for RMS). To submit a background check please go to www.helpcounter.net/eugene. Background checks are valid for a period of 2 years.
Parent-teacher conferences are Tuesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 12, 4-8 pm. All conferences are in the D Gym and parents move from table to table, according to a schedule that will be provided, to meet with up to three teachers for ten minute appointments with each. Your student should have received a yellow appointment request form from the advisor on Tuesday, October 6, but the appointment request form is also attached to this email. Scheduling is completed on a first come, first served basis. Due to high demand, it is not possible to schedule all requests. Therefore, if you don’t have concerns, you may choose not to participate. Please remember conferences are an ongoing process. Parents are always welcome to contact teachers at any point during the school year. Although our resources are limited, our desire to communicate is not. Although forms were due last week, we will still accept them through tomorrow, 10/23, and will do our best to schedule you with one or more teachers. Due to high demand, it is not possible to schedule all requests.
