Parents at Roosevelt Meeting Times
Welcome to Parents at Roosevelt (PAR). As parents of students at the school, you are automatically a member of the parent group and we are so happy to have you join us. Our monthly business meetings are a fantastic way to keep up-to-date with what’s going at school through updates from Principal Eric Anderson, find out what volunteer opportunities are available in the near future, and stay informed about staff appreciation events, fundraising, and more.
In an effort to maximize attendance and participation in PAR, we would like your input on our meeting schedule. We will do our best to work with the input provided by interested parents to come up with a meeting time and day that will work well for the majority. If you are unable to attend meetings but are interested in what happens at PAR, our meeting minutes will be posted on the school website under the PAR tab. Your participation helps to make Roosevelt a great school and is greatly appreciated.

6th Grade Parent Education Night (Sponsored by PAR)
THIS Thursday, October 3rd
Parents of 6th-Graders! Please come join your new school community to take part in a special evening meeting created just for you, at RMS THIS Thursday, October 3rd from 6 to 7:30pm. Led by RMS teachers, Principal Eric Anderson, School Counselor Lee Baker, and local psychotherapists Rachel Cazavilan and Paul Bolle, this interactive meeting is meant to help prepare parents for what lies ahead in the transition from elementary school to middle school. Discussions will be centered around ensuring good communication between home and school, learning what supportive resources are available to your student, how you and your child can be involved in the school community outside of class time, managing increased stress and meeting the new level of expectations, and creating healthy habits and home life to support this critical developmental transition. We plan for the time to be very interactive, so you’re welcome to engage as you feel comfortable. We’ll leave some time at the end to discuss and ask questions. We hope to see you there!
Are you tired of cutting and squirreling away BoxTops only to find them after they’ve expired? Well, good news! BoxTops for Education has gone digital! They are phasing out the traditional ones and have been rolling out products with the new logo. They have also added PaperMate office products and some other things. (One exception: 6 household products including Kleenex, Hefty and Ziploc have opted to keep the clip-only ones for now.) All you have to do is download the Box Top for Education App in Google Play or the App Store, sign up (or sign in) and take a picture of your receipt within 14 days of purchase. It will automatically credit the school for each product. Seriously, it’s so easy. For more information, you can check out https://www.boxtops4education.com/ If you have questions, I may or may not be able to answer them, but feel free to shoot me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Lock Up Skateboards & Scooters
Please remind your students that skateboards and scooters are not allowed in the building and may not be stored in students’ lockers. Skateboard and scooters must be locked in the skateboard docks outside. Locks can be borrowed from the office on a day-to-day basis if your student forgets to bring a lock.
