Roosevelt Middle School Yearbook Club
Meeting Mondays @ 3:35
FUN | CREATIVE | ORGANIZED | PHOTOGRAPHY | NEW SKILLS | TEAMWORK
Yearbook is an extra-curricular activity and is a project-based, production-intensive club that focuses on the entire school with the mission of providing a fun, accurate historical account of the school year for the student body in the form of a yearbook.
This club offers you the opportunity to:
- Be Creative
- Make a product you are proud of
- Work with and make new friends
- Represent your school as a photographer, designer, and author
Participation in this club requires:
- Self discipline
- Time management skills to meet deadlines
- Attention to details
- A positive and helpful attitude
- Respecting equipment
- Willingness to look at your own work and peer work with a critical eye
There are many roles in creating a yearbook. Are you artistic, great with words, inquisitive, great with sales, excellent at catching typos, a follower of sports or club events, a good photographer, organized, technologically savvy?
The first few weeks will be spent brainstorming and learning. We will need to determine what content /pages we want to include and who works on which pages. We will also learn about taking good photographs and how to use the Lifetouch yearbook website. After this, we will delve into the nitty-gritty of creating the yearbook.
The club will meet regularly on Mondays after school @ 3:35 but additional time may be required at school functions or at home to meet deadlines.
If you are interested in being on the yearbook team please download and print the staff contract, look it over carefully and return it with your signature and your parents’ signature to the next club meeting.
