Principal's Message

Hello Roosevelt Families,

I hope this message finds you well!

As we move into the third full week of school, it’s nice to see students adjusting to their classes, building relationships with staff and peers, and being the awesome young people they are.

This week on Wednesday, affinity groups have their first meetings. Here is the schedule, which is still being fine tuned:
Affinity Group Schedule
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Kelsea or me if we can support.

All the best!

Mike & Kelsea

What’s Going On at RMS

LifeTouch - Pictures are now available

Dear families,

School pictures are now available!
To see if your child's pictures are available to view, please log in to your account at mylifetouch.com. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using your email address.
To locate your child's photos, you'll need their Student ID or Portrait ID and Access Code. If you don't have this information, you can:
  • Check your inbox for an email from Lifetouch that may contain your access credentials and a direct link to your child's images.
  • Contact the Lifetouch Help Center for assistance
Please note that pictures may not become available for all students at the same time, so check back later if you don't see your child's images yet.

Gently used kitchen items needed

Hello RMS families!

We are in need of items for our cooking classroom and hope that you may have some extra and unneeded items in your own kitchens that you could donate for student use. (This could be a great opportunity to clear out some kitchen clutter!)

Please do not purchase new items. This is truly a request for gently used items that you no longer need that could supplement what we currently have.

1.     Oven mitts
2.     Dish towels
3.     Plates (dessert/dinner/serving)
4.     Silverware (forks/knives/spoons)
5.     Muffin tins
6.     Sheet pans
7.     Pyrex ovenware (bread size, tart size)

Thank you, the Home EC team!

Gear Up for the Walk+Roll to School Challenge!

On October 7, 2026, our school is participating in the Walk+Roll to School Challenge. We’re asking every family to use active transportation like walking, biking, scooting, skating or shared transportation like the bus or carpooling to improve our students’ health, learning and independence and to improve safety and traffic around our school and our impact on the environment! We have great prizes to encourage our students to participate!
If driving is your only option, you could “Park and Stride” by parking a short walk away from school and walking with your child the rest of the way. Students who ride the bus, carpool, or park and stride still be able to enter the raffle for prizes.

Can you help with this year’s Walk + Roll to School Challenge?
Please contact Laura - fuhriman_l@4j.lane.edu or sign up HERE.

Lost & Found Clean-Out

Our Lost & Found currently contains many items, including sweatshirts, water bottles, lunch bags, and more. Please encourage your student to take a look for any missing belongings.
We also have a drawer containing valuable lost items.

You are welcome to stop by RMS to check the Lost & Found closet, after School.

All unclaimed items in the closet will be donated to Bags of Love on October 8th.

We are very grateful to our volunteers who help keep the Lost & Found organized throughout the year!
Thank you,

SchoolPay: Fees, Financial Assistance & Donations

We are working to make SchoolPay easier for families to navigate and to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent students from participating in school activities and opportunities.
For eligible items, families may see several payment options:

Full Price — Select this option if you are able to pay the full cost.

Flexible Price — If the full cost would be difficult for your family, select this option and contribute the amount your family can comfortably afford.

Full Financial Assistance — If your family is unable to contribute at this time, select the $0 option. This lets us know that your student would still like to participate or receive the item. A staff member may follow up privately to discuss available support.

Donations — Families who would like to contribute additional funds may have the opportunity to help support other students or specific school programs.
Our goal is to make school opportunities accessible to all students while providing families with simple and respectful payment options.
For all purchases, but donations you need to log in SchoolPay.

Way to support Roosevelt

Support Roosevelt by making a donation through SchoolPay. Choose from several donation options to support the programs, activities, and resources that benefit our students.

Support Roosevelt through the BottleDrop Give program! Families can donate directly to Roosevelt through their BottleDrop account, or stop by the Roosevelt front office to pick up Blue Bags and BottleDrop stickers. Fill your Blue Bag with eligible bottles and cans, attach the sticker, and drop it off at a BottleDrop location. It’s an easy way to turn your bottles and cans into support for Roosevelt students and our school community. You can find more information here.

Support Roosevelt through direct donations to EEF (Eugene Education Foundation) at any time of the year, by clicking the link below and making an online contribution or sending a check. Make sure to note “RMS Staffing” in the designation box. Donate directly by clicking here

Sign up for the Community Rewards program by linking your Fred Meyer Rewards Card to Roosevelt. You can search by our name or by our non-profit number GB554.

Download the Box Top for Education App in Google Play or the App Store, sign up (or sign in) and take a picture of your receipt within 14 days of purchase. It will automatically credit the school for each product. For more information, click on the link above.

Thank you for your generosity and for supporting Roosevelt students and our school community!

Students Ride Free with LTD

Parents, no one’s ready to watch their kids grow up.
But we all want them prepared for the real world.
Riding the bus helps students build independence, responsibility, and connections with their peers one ride at a time.
To get started, visit the school’s main office and ask about the LTD Student Transit Pass.

You and Your Student Can Benefit from Public Transit. Set your student up for success.
By riding the bus, students can practice time management, social skills, problem solving, and personal responsibility. There are benefits for families, too! Reduce your stress of juggling pickup and drop off multiple students, and trust that your student is in good hands with LTD’s professional drivers. It’s free, easy, and safe for your student to ride the bus through the school year, and throughout summer. Visit the school main office and ask about LTD’s free Student Transit Pass to get started.
